Funds for Music Almost Fully Invested
Creative Saskatchewan is announcing today that its Music sector grants and programs are nearly fully subscribed for fiscal year 2016-17, which ends on March 31, 2017.
To date this year, nearly $1 million from the Creative Saskatchewan Investment Fund has been invested in Saskatchewan’s music sector.
Those investments have helped musicians go on tour, record albums, make videos, promote themselves, and perform at showcase events around the world, as they pursue commercial success.
To best serve its clients as our Music sector now approaches fully subscribed status, Creative Saskatchewan must narrow its suite of grant programs.
The Market Travel grant program will remain open until the Music sector is fully subscribed.
However, five juried grant programs – Tour Support, Sound Recording, Business Capacity, Research, and Market & Export Development – must be closed to Music sector applicants immediately. All existing commitments made through these five grant programs will be honoured in full, but no new commitments can be made to Music applicants through these five programs for the remainder of this fiscal year, which ends March 31, 2017.
These changes ensure that Creative Saskatchewan can efficiently manage this year’s remaining Music sector funds, while ensuring that as much financial support as possible flows to musicians.
Creative Saskatchewan is proud to invest in Saskatchewan musicians, as they pursue commercial success.
