New Chief Executive Officer

NEW CEO READY TO MOVE CREATIVE SASKATCHEWAN FORWARD

Creative Saskatchewan is pleased to announce the appointment of their new Chief Executive Officer, Greg Magirescu.

Magirescu takes over the post from Interim CEO Susan Gorges who has held the position since December 2015.

“Greg Magirescu is an experienced executive in the creative sector who is committed to collaboration. His unique professional resume reveals a proven ability to build strong relationships, which makes him just the right fit for Creative Saskatchewan as it evolves,” said Ranjan Thakre, Board Chair of Creative Saskatchewan. “I look forward to working with Greg to build strong, working relationships and enhance commercial opportunities for our partners in the creative sector.”

Greg Magirescu, a seasoned senior arts and culture leader, brings diverse cultural and business experience to the role. Magirescu was responsible for bringing the Cultural Olympiad program to the 2010 Winter Games in Vancouver, worked as a bridge-builder connecting diverse groups to design and build the Anvil Centre in New Westminster, BC, and has brought music, theatre and fine arts programs to communities in Ontario and Atlantic Canada. Magirescu, a musician himself, moves to Regina from Charlottetown, where he served as CEO of the United Way of PEI.

“I am both honoured and excited to be taking on the role of CEO of Creative Saskatchewan,” said Magirescu. “I look forward to working with the Creative Saskatchewan Board and staff. We will continue building solid collaborative partnerships with Saskatchewan’s industry associations and other stakeholders in order to map out new opportunities to improve outcomes of the province’s creative sector.”

Magirescu will arrive in Regina in late June to officially assume his role as CEO of Creative Saskatchewan. Current Interim CEO Susan Gorges will remain with Creative Saskatchewan until the end of June 2016
