BUSINESS CAPACITY GRANT

 NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FROM ALL CREATIVE SECTORS

GRANT OVERVIEW

If your Saskatchewan-based business in one of our six creative sectors is up and running and ready to grow, this grant could help you expand, or become more efficient.

CREATIVE SECTOR ELIGIBILTY

Applicants from all creative sectors supported by Creative Saskatchewan are eligible to apply for this grant.

DEADLINE INFORMATION

NEW There are now different deadlines for different creative sectors:

Live Performing Arts, Book Publishing and Craft & Visual Art

Deadline: February 3, 2021 at 4pm 

Music

Deadline: January 6, 2021 at 4pm

Film & TV and Interactive Digital

Deadline: February 10, 2021 at 4pm

OUR INVESTMENT

Projects may be funded up to 50% of the approved budget.

YOUR PROJECT

Your project will focus on developing business knowledge, improved efficiencies, expanded workforce capacity and business skills that result in growth, market expansion and improved profitability. For example: attending an entrepreneurial skills course, or a conference that will help your business build a stronger professional network. We welcome proposals for other projects or activities, as long as they are intended to help your business expand.

  • All applicants must read the Official Grant Guidelines. The official guidelines supercede all information contained elsewhere on this website, delivered to applicants by Program Officers, or otherwise made publicly available.
  • All applicants must read the General Program Guidelines, which contains important details that apply to all Creative Saskatchewan grants.




ASSESSMENT CRITERIA


As explained in the General Program Guidelines your application will be assessed by specific criteria in three categories

  • Relevance
  • Impact
  • Experience & Capacity
Click here for the assessment criteria specific to this grant. You'll be asked these questions as part of the online Grant Management System application process. Listed beside each criteria is the maximum number of points available as each application is scored. Applicants may wish to pay particular attention to criteria with the highest number of points available.




APPLICATION TIPS


  • Make a strong case for how the activity you'd like to pursue will help your business grow.
  • Include a detailed timeline of what you'll be doing, and when.
  • Back up your proposed budget with quotes from vendors.
  • Explain why the right time to do this is now.
  • Spell-out your business' short-term and long-term goals.




AFTER YOU'RE APPROVED


  • When you're approved, 80% of the funds you've been awarded will be delivered when you sign the letter of agreement.
  • The remaining 20% of the funds are delivered after the project is complete, and we're approved your final report.
  • For projects receiving $100,000 of support or more, the first payment is reduced to 60%, with the remaining 40% payable after your final report is approved.
  • You'll be required to keep your program officer up to date with any changes you might need to make to your project.
  • You'll be required to acknowledge Creative Saskatchewan's support. Here's how.




APPLICATION PROCESSING TIME


Applicants can expect to receive results within 10 weeks from deadline date.
Results will be delivered via e-mail, and will be available in GMS.
