The Filmmaker’s Grant program supports emerging Saskatchewan filmmakers with mentorship and production funds to produce content under ten minutes intended to build the filmmakers’ professional portfolio.
The Assessment Criteria was approved on April 1, 2023 for the 2023-24 Fiscal Year. Any amendments made after the fact will be posted here:

1. Creative Treatment /15
Provide a two-page creative treatment for the production; a concept/story board; and inspiration for why you are undertaking this production.
2. The Plan / 5
Based on the creative treatment, is the plan achievable given the timeline and budget allowed:
Music video: 8 months, $7,500
Short-form content: 10 months, $25,000
Book to screen: 10 months, $30,000
3. The Team /6
Opportunities are being made available to Saskatchewan Writers, Directors, and Producers.
Saskatchewan Writer = 2 points
Saskatchewan Director = 2 points
Saskatchewan Producer = 2 points
If one person fills more than one of these roles, that person is allowed two points.
Note: Music video production applications will be assessed on four points for this criterion (Saskatchewan Director = 2 points, Saskatchewan Producer = 2 points).
4. Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and Parity /6
Opportunities are being made available to Saskatchewan writers, directors and producers who are under-represented in the creative sector.
Saskatchewan Writer = 2 points
Saskatchewan Director = 2 points
Saskatchewan Producer = 2 points
If one person fills more than one of these roles, that person is allowed two points.
Note: Music video production applications will be assessed on four points for this criterion (Saskatchewan Director = 2 points, Saskatchewan Producer = 2 points).

Describe your producer career goals and objectives and how making the production would allow you to achieve them. Include details on how you anticipate achieving them and why making the production is the next logical step for your career.
