The Digital Game Development Grant Program invests in Saskatchewan’s digital developers, helping them create digital games and gamified e-learning projects with commercial potential. All projects developed and designed with support from this grant must be made available for sale.
Eligible projects include apps for smart phones and tablets, console or PC games, and augmented or virtual reality experiences.
Projects focused on education or training are welcome, as long as the experience has been “gamified,” meaning users will feel like they are playing a game.
All deadlines close at 4:00 PM Saskatchewan time. If a deadline falls on a statutory holiday or a weekend, applications will be accepted until 4:00 PM the following business day.
Application processing time: Applicants can expect to receive results within 10 weeks from the deadline date.
Applicants may apply for a maximum of $100,000 or 50% of the total cash budget, whichever is the lesser, for one application or the entire life of the project.
Applicants may only receive funding one time for each stage of development for the same project.
Please note that if ineligible expenses (outlined in the Guidelines above) exceed 50% of the project budget, the application will be deemed ineligible.
Activities that receive funding from the Saskatchewan Arts or SaskCulture are not eligible for support through Creative Saskatchewan investment programs.
