Creative Saskatchewan is pleased to present its 2017-18 Annual Report, titled “Unlocking Creative Profitability.”
“Throughout 2017-2018, we have continued to push the envelope through the collaborative hard work of our Board of Directors, amazing client-centred staff, dedicated industry associations, Ministry staff, and the support of two champions for the creative industries in Minister Ken Cheveldayoff and Minister Gene Makowsky,” said Greg Magirescu, CEO of Creative Saskatchewan. “I am hearing more and more success stories from film and television producers, musicians, book publishers, craftspeople, commercial galleries and performing arts companies throughout the province who are growing their markets across the country and around the world.”
This year’s annual report features 18 of those success stories, across six different creative sectors. Each story reveals how creative entrepreneurs in the province capitalized on investments from Creative Saskatchewan to build their creative careers and to propel their pursuit of commercial success.
The annual report also contains a complete list of each grant recipient, a short description of their project, and the dollar amount committed. Other notable facts include:
$2.3 million dollars invested in seven creative industry associations’ programs and operations this past year
three new grant programs launched in support of interactive digital development and emerging filmmakers
creative entrepreneurs personally conducted business and performed in 16 countries with the agency’s support
