Autopilot’s newest music videos are a smash success
Autopilot has been busy marketing their newest album, Afterglow. Support from the Creative Saskatchewan Market and Export Development Grant allowed the band to focus on radio promotion, streaming, and four new music videos.
The videos for “Living Dead”, “Undisguised”, “Modern Age”, and the album’s title track, “Afterglow”, were strategically released over the last two years. The album received plenty of attention thanks to the high-quality videos. Afterglow reached number 142 on the North American NACC charts and received play on iHeart Radio stations in massive music markets like Houston’s 94.5 The Buzz, Minneapolis Go 96.3, Alt Buffalo, and dozens more,
“The marketing support we received from Creative Saskatchewan for our album Afterglow helped us to take our career to the next level. We signed with American-based management company 10 and 8 Management Agency. We have expanded and strengthened our team, our reach, and our fan base as a result of the funding. ” -Autopilot frontman, Marlon Harder.
In particular, the Afterglow music video was a smash hit—literally, complete with crowd surfing, spray paint, and wall smashing. After discovering that a neighbouring house in Saskatoon was scheduled for demolition, the band gained permission from the owners and collaborated with local breweries to throw the cathartic house party featured in the video. Harder acknowledges that this album created new opportunities for Autopilot’s next release.
“The effects from this will result in us spending more money in the Saskatchewan economy with other creative producers on everything from videos to gear to recording demos and albums, and selling out bigger venues locally and beyond.”
