Creative Saskatchewan is seeking a Communications and Social Media Manager.
POSITION: Communications and Social Media Manager
REPORTS TO: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
STATUS: Full-time, permanent, 37.5 hours per week, out-of-scope
SALARY RANGE: $76,000-$96,000
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Communications and Social Media Manager is responsible for managing the organization’s internal and external communications and online strategies. This includes the development and implementation of communications strategies and tools that support various program and service needs, as well as advocacy materials showcasing the strengths and benefits of Saskatchewan’s creative industries.
Responsibilities for Communications and Social Media Manager
Develop, write and edit communications materials, including press releases, blog posts, newsletters and social media content.
Promote communications and marketing materials through appropriate social media channels.
Track analytics and create reports detailing successes and failures of communications campaigns.
Ensure the development of an effective internal communications strategy that enhances the stakeholder involvement of Creative Saskatchewan initiatives and services.
Maintain website to ensure information is accurate and accessible to stakeholders.
Facilitate consultations with stakeholder groups with the objective of gathering community feedback, recognizing opportunities, and identifying gaps in program offerings.
Respond to media inquiries and perform media outreach as required.
Develop escalation protocols for managing communication crises, should they arise.
Manage the documentation of and response to agency complaints.
Coordinate FOIP requests.
Media monitoring to assist in identifying trends across creative industries.
Facilitate efficient and expeditious internal communications between departments.
Review and edit written internal communication and assist with messaging at all levels.
Coordinate the hiring and monitoring of external marketing and communications consulting firms.
Oversee the production of the agency’s annual report including managing deadlines, developing content, securing various levels of approvals, overseeing the graphic design and submitting to government for tabling in the Legislature.
Qualifications for Communications and Social Media Manager
5+ years prior experience in a communications or marketing role.
Demonstrated ability to create engaging social media content.
Must possess exceptional writing skills and be able to compose engaging and accurate content.
Strong collaboration skills and the willingness to share areas of competence with others.
Exceptional time management skills and the ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously, handle interruptions, and provide support to all areas of Creative Saskatchewan.
Ability to think strategically and identify ways to improve communication efforts.
Must be resourceful and take initiative even when given minimal direction.
Professionalism and diplomacy.
Knowledge of Saskatchewan’s creative industries is required.
