SheNative Launches New "Gratitude Collection"
SheNative creates inspiring leather handbags and apparel that share Indigenous teachings embedded with positive values passed down by ancestors.
The company recently launched a collaborative project with Helen Oro Designs to create a unique leather bag collection now available online and at other retailers across Canada. A Craft and Visual Arts Production Grant is helped SheNative complete that project.
Grant in Action: Craft and Visual Arts Production Grant
Award-winning entrepreneur and Founder & Chief Changemaker of SheNative, Devon Fiddler, knew a Creative Saskatchewan grant could play a vital role in her financial plan for the project.
“Launching a new collection of goods is often timely and costly. The Craft and Visual Arts Production Grant helped us invest in two local, Indigenous artisans with the fine arts skills needed in order to make these items.” -Devon Fiddler, Founder & Chief Changemaker, SheNative
The new line features three designs adorned with beaded piecework by Helen Oro: a Bucket Bag, a Crossbody, and an Evening Clutch.
All items are available for sale on shenative.com, with 15% of the profits donated to a charity that either provides support services for Indigenous women fleeing domestic violence or programming intended to empower Indigenous women and girls.
