Mobile MD, a homegrown original TV series produced by Wavelength Entertainment, features the mobile medical practice of Dr. Samantha Henley. Knowing that those in rural communities do not have easy access to healthcare, Dr. Henley packs her equipment into a mobile home to bring medical assistance to remote communities on the prairies.
Creative Saskatchewan invested in this project through the Television Production grant.
“Our adventures now take us to see people who need a little extra push (or a cattle prod) to seek the care they need. It’s also the perfect opportunity to show others that sometimes, those simple little issues can become big problems. I try to highlight what needs to be done to get the ball rolling. Massive thanks to Creative Saskatchewan, Rogers Media Inc., Joanne McDonald and Will Dixon at CityTV Saskatchewan, the Canada Media Fund and other partners whose support allows us to educate and entertain by telling these stories." –Dr. Samantha Henley, Producer and Host of Mobile MD
MobileMD’s first season features everything from cardiac care and eczema to bull-riding and demolition derby injuries. Season One is available to stream here. A virtual reality/360 project is also in production to accompany the television series.
