  • $1,500 for Single or Demo recordings

  • $15,000 for Full-Length recordings

How applications are assessed

Applications can be evaluated in two ways:

Pathway One: Fast-Track Approval

  • If a recording project has secured funding from FACTOR, the application may be "fast-tracked."

  • "Fast-tracked" applications will be assessed by Creative Saskatchewan staff for eligibility, and may be approved without jury adjudication.

Pathway Two: Jury Adjudication

  • Eligible applications that do not qualify for the "fast-track" pathway will be submitted to a jury for adjudication. Juries are convened twice each year, funds permitting.

Application tips

  • include estimates and/or quotes from vendors

  • write about who your audience is, and how you'll get your recording into their hands

  • describe in detail what your new recording will sound, look and feel like; it's not recommended to suggest you'll find your sound in the studio

  • your bios, vendor estimates, timeline and budget should be cohesive; make sure there aren't any contradictions

  • submit a timeline that's as detailed as possible

After you're approved

When you're approved, 80% of the funds you've been awarded will be delivered when you sign the letter of agreement.

The remaining 20% of the funds are delivered after the project is complete, and we've approved your final report.

You'll need to update your program officer with any changes you might need to make to your project.

You'll be required to acknowledge Creative Saskatchewan's support. Here's how.
