What the grant supports

The Web Series Grant supports the production of multiple episode, short-form, screen-based media projects that are all of the following:

  • new and original

  • written, directed, and produced by Saskatchewan residents

  • entirely developed, filmed and edited in Saskatchewan

  • one of the following genres

    • scripted or non-scripted drama

    • documentary

    • animation

What the grant can't support

  • adapted content

  • student projects

  • projects funded in part from any of the following

    • Creative Saskatchewan Screen-Based Media Production Grant

    • Creative Saskatchewan Micro-Budget Feature Film Grant

    • Saskatchewan Arts Board 

    • SaskCulture

What support is available

Up to 50% of the approved budget, to a maximum of $10,000

After You're Approved

When you're approved, your grant is payable through two payments: first payment and final payment.

 

80% of the approved funds are provided to successful applicants on the first day of principal photography of the project.

Your final payment is 20% of your grant, paid after the project is complete and your final report has been approved.

For example:

  • Total budget of project = $30,000

  • Full grant = $10,000 (maximum amount)

  • First payment (80% of grant) = $8,000

  • Final payment (20% of grant) = $2,000

Grant recipients are required to acknowledge the support of Creative Saskatchewan.

Official grant guidelines

Applicants must read the official grant guidelines.

In the event of a discrepancy between the official grant guidelines and any other source of information about our grant programs, the official grant guidelines will take precedence.

 

Applicants must read the Creative Saskatchewan Investment Fund Guide, which contains terms and conditions that apply to all grants.

How applications are assessed

Applications will be reviewed by a panel of industry professionals who will consider:

  • the quality of the creative material

  • the professional capacity of the production team

  • the project's potential to engage audiences

  • budget feasibility

  • what the project contributes to the ​professional development of the team

How to apply

Applications to this grant are accepted through our Online Grant Management System (GMS).

 

GMS APPLICATION ADVICE:

  • You may use GMS at any time to create an applicant profile, but you will not be able to begin work on an application until the grant program opens on Sept 4, 2018.
