Local Game Studio Gains Fans at Game Con Canada

Wyatt Will successfully applied for Creative Saskatchewan’s Showcase or Sell Travel Grant, allowing him and his team to attend Game Con Canada 2025 in Edmonton to promote their latest work.

Will, a game developer and CEO of his own game development company, Fred Co Studio, took his game Derp Party to the conference. Derp Party was created to be a fun couch-party game.

The team had at least 600 people come to their booth to play Derp Party. Wyatt explained, “A lot of them came as groups looking for a game they can play together. Most games at the conference were single player, so people were trying to find multiplayer games. Many people enjoyed the game and had a great time playing.”

Will was able to receive feedback on the game from players, test new features, and find sources of issues thanks to the conference. They even received some fan art submissions! Great work, Will, we can’t wait to see your entrepreneurial journey unfold!
