The Live Performing Arts Production Grant assists eligible Saskatchewan individuals and companies in the production of a series of performances intended for paying audiences.
Live performance art is defined as a staged, live-action expression of art that features a presentation to a paying audience.
Examples of live performances include:
Theatre
Dance
Stand-up comedy
Magic/illusions
Spoken word/poetry
Miming
Puppetry
Circus acts
Creative Saskatchewan recognizes that there are many varieties of performance art, please contact a Program Advisor if you are uncertain if your performance constitutes Creative Saskatchewan’s definition of live performance art.
While we recognize that music is a form of live performance art, we have dedicated programs for this sector here.
Deadlines & Processing Time
Opening date: May 23, 2024
Deadline: November 27, 2024
All deadlines close at 4:00 PM Saskatchewan time. If a deadline falls on a statutory holiday or a weekend, applications will be accepted until 4:00 PM the following business day.
Application processing time: Applicants can expect to receive results within 10 weeks from the deadline date.
The official guidelines supersede all information contained elsewhere on this website, delivered to applicants by Program Advisors, or otherwise made publicly available.
Please note that if ineligible expenses (outlined in the Guidelines above) exceed 50% of the project budget, the application will be deemed ineligible.
Activities that receive funding from the Saskatchewan Arts or SaskCulture are not eligible for support through Creative Saskatchewan investment programs.
You’ll be asked these questions as part of the online Grant Management System application process, pay close attention to the maximum number of points available!

It was clarified that performances do not need to take place in Saskatchewan.
Applicants can now include both an administration fee and in-house expenses in their project budget.

80% of your grant is paid when the application is approved. The remaining 20% of your grant is paid after the project is complete and your final report has been approved.
