[Breakout West] was a priority for us as we look to expand the reach of our music and our artist presence…The experience was both productive and a joy to get to participate in. Thank you for the funding support, Creative Sask!
Overall, the support from Creative Saskatchewan was not just a financial boost but an essential part of expanding our network and advancing our career as musicians.
We are very grateful for the funding we received from Creative Saskatchewan as it gave us the opportunity to make new industry connections, build relationships with industry we’ve met previously, and connect with other artists.
Releasing our new album with the support of Creative Saskatchewan has helped build our profile, unlock new performance and sales opportunities, and has allowed us to reinvest that revenue into paying incredible local creatives for their artistic contributions. We’re on track to hit our revenue and business growth goals, and it wouldn’t have been possible without this album that was created with the support of Creative Saskatchewan.
I am truly thankful to Creative Saskatchewan for their support, this opportunity was a dream come true that helped inspire more dreams and overcome many fears I had. It feels like laying the foundation and now I am building on it.
We are thankful to be a part of a community and province that prioritizes and supports the arts within our diverse and vast culture. It’s truly a pleasure and a privilege for us to take part in.
Records are expensive and just really thankful to have the opportunity to, you know, get funding, to go to showcases, to create albums, to do tours. It’s incredibly valuable. And that kind of support is exactly what artists need and what the arts community needs to survive and thrive.
[Funding] helps take some of the financial burden off the artist and allows them to release their projects worldwide, while continuing to live in a smaller province. Creative Sask’s knowledgeable staff is always very good about helping with the grant application process…I love Saskatchewan, my family lives here and I’ve been able to make a living off music for a while now.
Being kind of a one woman show over here. It’s a lot. It’s a lot of stress, it’s a lot of trying to figure things out on your own. You obviously get into those moments of self-doubt, if you’re ready for it, if this is something that you can take on or not. And so the financial support from Creative Sask was such a huge part and such a huge stress reliever of this project.
Contact Ouest is the only Francophone showcasing event in Western Canada and I hadn’t been since 2016. So, it was kind of a reinitiation of my solo stuff in that market and…allowed me to build the relationships that I’ve had there, and, of course, meet a lot of new industry people from francophone Western Canada.
