Industry Sponsorship

Eligible projects are events, initiatives, or campaigns that support the commercial success of Saskatchewan’s creative entrepreneurs. Projects must either present a real business opportunity for creative entrepreneurs or provide practical professional development that strengthens business skills. General “exposure only” opportunities aren’t eligible.

Event and Project Sponsorship grants are for events, initiatives, and campaigns in the following creative industries:

• Film & TV
• Music
• Book Publishing
• Craft & Visual Arts
• Digital Game Development
• Live Performing Arts

Yes. While not required, we consider how projects support inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility, especially initiatives that benefit Black, Indigenous, visible minority, and LGBTQIA2S+ creative entrepreneurs.

Event and Project Sponsorship does not fund:

• Capital costs (equipment, buildings, vehicles, long-term technology)
• Operational costs (salaries, rent, utilities)
• General festival or market sponsorships
• Events that don’t align with our mandate or offer no business development value
• Projects already receiving funding from SK Arts or SaskCulture for the same activity
• Organizations advocating political or religious beliefs
• Crowdfunding campaigns (e.g., GoFundMe)
• Events or organizations that discriminate

In rare cases, exceptions may be made if there is a clear strategic benefit.

• Yorkton Film Festival – Meet the Decision Makers: Pitch sessions and a competition that help filmmakers connect with decision-makers.
• Saskatchewan Book Awards – Publishing Category: Recognition and business value for publishers.
• COBSMEs Black Business Networking Event: Professional development and networking for Black creative entrepreneurs.

A project may not be funded if it doesn’t demonstrate a clear business development benefit for Saskatchewan’s creative entrepreneurs or if it focuses only on general exposure. Applications are also ineligible if they include capital or operational costs, duplicate funding already provided by SK Arts or SaskCulture, or come from organizations that promote political or religious beliefs. Projects that involve discriminatory practices or crowdfunding campaigns are also ineligible.

Applications are accepted year-round until funds run out. Our fiscal year runs from April 1 to March 31.

We aim to respond to applications within two weeks. However, applicants are encouraged to submit their applications with ample time for review, approval, and follow-up.

Requests can be made for up to $50,000 in sponsorship.

You should contact Creative Saskatchewan as soon as possible. Major changes may require review and approval before continuing to receive sponsorship.

You can acknowledge our support through:

• Logo placement in marketing materials
• Verbal recognition at events or in media
• Inviting Creative Saskatchewan to speak or participate
• Tagging us on social media (@CreativeSask)
