Book Publishing Production Grant - Book Publishers’ Stream

• Projects will be funded up to 25-50% of the approved project budget, based on the published assessment criteria.
• No applicant may receive more than $40,000 per fiscal between both streams of the Book Publishing Production Grant.
• Books where the author, or other individual contributing to the project creative, makes a financial contribution to cover any portion of the cost of production are not eligible towards the two book requirement.
• Titles where the author, or other individual contributing to the project creative, makes a financial contribution to cover any portion of the cost of production is an ineligible expense.
• Titles for which the author, or other individual contributing to the project creative, does not receive financial compensation is an ineligible expense.
• It was clarified that core business operations or capital expenditures such as rent, purchase of real estate, office furniture, renovations, or maintenance costs are ineligible expenses.
• It was clarified that activities that have received funding from SK Arts or SaskCulture are ineligible.
  • Creative Saskatchewan will not duplicate support provided by SK Arts or SaskCulture, however projects where the author received funding to develop the content might still be considered eligible to Creative Saskatchewan’s Book Publishing Production Grant.
• The following temporary changes are in place due to COVID-19:
  • A restriction on the number of “reprint titles” has been temporarily removed.
  • A restriction that prevented applicants from including both an administration fee and in-house expenses in their project budget has been temporarily removed.

• 80% of your grant is paid when the application is approved. The remaining 20% of your grant is paid after the project is complete and your final report has been approved.
