• Under Financial Participation, the following changes were made:
  • The following bullet was removed as Creative Saskatchewan engages in an industry review:
    • For Eligible Projects receiving production funding from CMF Linear Programs, the PFCO included within the production Budget shall be a maximum of 20% of Sections B+C of the production Budget, with the exception of productions with Budgets of less than $500,000 (“Low Budget Productions”), one-off documentaries, and Eligible Projects that meet the applicable Region definition for the Northern Production Incentive as set out in Addendum B to the Regional Production Funding Guidelines, for which the percentage is 30% of B+C.
  • The following bullet was added to ensure prices reflect fair market value and are safeguarded against potential misuse: Total related party transactions exceeding $500,000 attributed to the determination of Saskatchewan spend require written approval from Creative Saskatchewan.
    • “Related-party transaction” refers to a deal or arrangement made between two parties who are joined by a preexisting business relationship or common interest.
• Please note that the General Guidelines have been updated for 2025-26.
• In addition to the acknowledgement requirements for all grant recipients listed in the General Guidelines, successful recipients of Creative Saskatchewan’s Feature Film and Television Production Grant must include Creative Saskatchewan’s logo in the credits and on any physical copies of the project.
• Applicants’ Single Purpose Production Company (SPPC) must be registered with a PST number. Information on how to do this can be found on the Government of Saskatchewan’s website here.

• In the case of dramatic projects, priority will be given to applications where the majority of principal photography is taking place in Saskatchewan and productions that demonstrate a high economic return for the province.
• In the case of documentaries, priority will be given to applications where the 75% of post-production occurs within the province and productions that demonstrate a high economic return for the province.
• Applications for projects determined to have a low priority may be waitlisted.

• The 5% post production bonus applies to all of the eligible expenses, not just the eligible post production expenses.

Payment schedules are contingent upon Creative Saskatchewan’s risk assessment of the application and identification of milestones that the production must meet in order to receive payments. This may vary from project to project depending on scale and risk. Your payment schedule will be outlined in the Letter of Commitment (LOC) you receive from Creative Saskatchewan upon being approved for funding.

There are three stages to our payment process. The stage in which your application is in will determine the approximate date of your payment:

Step 1: Invoice Submission & Coding

• Estimated timeframe: within 1 week of receipt

Step 2: Approval Process

• Estimated timeframe: 1-5 business days (varies based on approvers’ availability)

Step 3: Payment Processing

• Estimated timeframe: 3-5 business days after approval

The time it takes to fill out a strong application varies from person to person and often depends on project complexity or the amount of detail included.

For this reason, we strongly encourage applicants to apply well in advance of the program deadline. Allow yourself time to:

• Read the General Guidelines and the Guidelines specific to the program that you’re applying for.
• Book a consultation with a Film Analyst if you need any support or have a draft ready for review
• Make any necessary edits and conduct a final proof
• Submit your final application
