Saskatoon, SK – Saskatchewan’s film and television sector took center stage this month as Creative Saskatchewan hosted its highly anticipated annual “Trailer Drop” event, celebrating the province’s vibrant screen-based storytelling and its growing economic impact.
Held at the Kramer IMAX Theatre in Regina on October 10 and the Broadway Theatre in Saskatoon on October 17, the event showcased 21 trailers from productions supported by Creative Saskatchewan’s Feature Film & TV Production Grant. From gripping documentaries to animated adventures and cinematic dramas, each trailer offered a glimpse into the diverse and dynamic work being created across the province.
“The film industry is a vital contributor to Saskatchewan’s economic growth,” said the Honourable Alana Ross, Minister of Parks, Culture and Sport. “It’s creating jobs, attracting investment, and showcasing our province’s stories on a global stage. These productions are expected to generate over $64.1 million in economic impact, create more than 700 jobs, and spend over $48.3 million in communities throughout Saskatchewan; from La Ronge to Duck Lake to Swift Current and many more.”

Attendees enjoyed a movie-themed atmosphere complete with free concession, a high-energy program, and loud, proud cheers for every production team in attendance.
“This event is more than a celebration of creativity, it’s a powerful demonstration of the film industry’s role in driving Saskatchewan’s economy,” said Erin Dean, CEO of Creative Saskatchewan. “Our investment of $19.1 million into these productions is yielding significant returns in job creation, local spending, and external investment.”
