Sask Creatives for C-SET Monthly Talks- April 2026: Featuring Sask Culture

C-SET invites you to join us in this FREE event. C-SET Talks happens the last Friday of every month at 12pm MST.

Damon Bandger Heit is a member of the Mistawasis Nêhiyawak in the Treaty 6 territory of Saskatchewan.  He has lived in Regina for many years and has been involved in the arts and culture of Saskatchewan for over 20 years. He has served with SaskCulture for 19 years and is currently the Supervisor of Partnerships and Inclusion, where he focuses on supporting a team of consultants who support cultural initiatives around the province.

SaskCulure is a non-profit, community-based, volunteer-driven, provincial cultural organization who works with its members, volunteers and community partners to build a culturally vibrant province, where all citizens celebrate, value and participate in a rich, cultural life. Thanks to funding from Sask Lotteries, SaskCulture is able to offer programs to distribute this funding and help nurture cultural engagement in the province.

Charles Umeh is a Program Advisor at Creative Saskatchewan. He supports clients at all stages of the application process for grants in the craft and visual arts, live performing arts, music, digital game development, and book publishing sectors.

A gifted storyteller and public speaker on the arts, Charles is an expert when it comes to advising clients on project budgets, how to propel creative entrepreneurs’ careers, and maximizing their grant dollars. Charles’ experience as a filmmaker and the Artistic Director at Common Weal Community Arts make him an asset to the team!

Charles holds a certificate in Entertainment Law from the Osgoode Hall Law School of York University and is a Certified Business Analysis Professional.

In his spare time, Charles enjoys watching soccer, playing chess, and volunteering within the arts community.

They help creatives stay in the province, share our stories, and contribute to our communities while making a living.
