Creative Saskatchewan Visits Set of Paranormal Thriller “Beyond The Veil” Filming in Regina

Regina, SK – Creative Saskatchewan visited the set of Beyond The Veil this week, a paranormal thriller produced by Karma Film and supported through Creative Saskatchewan’s Feature Film and Television Production Grant. Filming took place at a stunning heritage home in Regina’s Lakeview neighborhood, doubling as a haunted house in the film.

The production is estimated to spend more than $4.3 million locally, resulting in a $5.8 million positive economic impact for Saskatchewan and creating nearly 80 jobs for Saskatchewan crew and performers. Creative Saskatchewan committed $1.7 million to the project, generating a return of $3.32 for every public dollar invested.

“Boasting a 100% local crew and cast, this project is a testament to the incredible talent and resources available in Saskatchewan,” says Anand Ramayya, Producer with Karma Film. “The film is helmed by local writer / director Dave Hansen, so hiring local was a priority for both of us, and it’s been easy to do business here thanks to the skilled crew, cast, welcoming communities, and unique locations that bring our story to life.”

The film follows three paranormal podcasters investigating a farmhouse abandoned since the Darnell family’s mysterious deaths in the 1960s. What begins as a hunt for evidence spirals into chaos when a mistranslated ritual invites an entity inside, turning the team from witnesses into participants.

Filming highlights include Regina’s Lakeview neighborhood, the beloved Mercury Café, and an acreage just outside the city, locations that underscore Saskatchewan’s diverse and cinematic landscapes.
