The Sound Recording Grant supports the production of commercially viable sound recordings for commercial release.
The Assessment Criteria was approved on April 1, 2023 for the 2023-24 Fiscal Year. Any amendments made after the fact will be posted here:

The definition of a “Key Team Member” was added: “A Saskatchewan resident who has significant influence over the creative, production, marketing plan, and/or business plan and is compensated in the project budget at $500 or more.”
1. Creative Submission /5
Provide information for the songs submitted with the application including title, composer(s) name, producer(s) name, engineer(s) name, studio name, recording type (demo, rough-cut, commercial, etc.), method of recording (digital or analog), date of release, and additional information.

2. The Plan / 10
Provide a detailed workplan for all activity including recording, mixing, mastering, manufacturing, and artwork design.

3. Marketing Strategy /10
List the tools, strategies, and professional resources you anticipate using to promote the recording. This needs to be more specific than a general marketing plan.

4. The Team /10
Describe the experience and achievements of you and your team members; why you have assembled this team. Include the recording studio, facilities, and personnel, and marketing professionals (if included in the application). Remember to include industry-relevant resumes or bios for team members in the Upload Files tab.

5. Return on Investment /10
What is your realistic return on investment?
For example: expected revenue; expected increase in web traffic; expected increase in traction on social media, reviews, events, blog posts, etc.; increasing outreach to a target market and/or increase in newsletter audience.
