SASKTEL MAX EQUITY FUND

GRANT OVERVIEW

The Creative Saskatchewan SaskTel Max Equity Fund provides financial support to eligible Saskatchewan-based independent producers of audiovisual productions. Creative Saskatchewan may invest in eligible projects that demonstrate significant economic, cultural and employment benefit to the Saskatchewan industry, and a high potential of recoupment and profit in the
application.

SASKTEL'S INVESTMENT

The Fund is a competitive fund that may provide equity investment in support of eligible productions to a maximum of 20% of the approved cash budget.

DEADLINE INFORMATION

Opens May 10, 2021 at 12pm

Deadline: July 15, 2021 at 4pm

If a deadline falls on a statutory holiday or a weekend, applications will be accepted until 4pm the following business day.

ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS AND PROJECTS

Applicants must have experience as producers of film, video or digital delivery productions, co-own the project, and be incorporated or registered pursuant.
Projects in the following categories are eligible:

  • Long-form documentary

  • Informal education / recreation and leisure

  • Drama and comedy

  • Music and dance

  • Music video programs

  • General entertainment and human interest

IMPORTANT TAX INFORMATION


The SaskTel Max Equity Fund is classified by the Canada Revenue Agency as "public assistance." As such, SaskTel Max Equity Fund recipients' eligibility for federal tax credit programs may be affected. Producers are advised to consult with an accounting professional on this, and all other CRA matters.




APPLICATION PROCESSING TIME


Applicants can expect to receive results within 8 weeks from deadline date.
Results will be delivered via e-mail, and will be available in GMS.




ASSESSMENT CRITERIA

  • You'll be asked these questions as part of the online Grant Management System application process.
  • Listed beside each criteria is the maximum number of points available as each application is scored.
  • Applicants may wish to pay particular attention to criteria with the highest number of points available.




AFTER YOU'RE APPROVED


  • 60% of the approved funds are provided to successful applicants on the first day of principal photography of the project.
  • 20% on receipt of an interim report and delivery of rough cut(s).
  • The remaining 20%, or a smaller amount based on an audit of actual Saskatchewan expenditures, will be provided after the submission, review and approval of a final report from the producer.
  • Completed projects with budgets under $250k are required to provide a cost declaration as part of the final report.
  • For projects with a budget that totals $250,000 or greater but less than $500,000, Creative Saskatchewan requires a Final Certified Activity Cost Statements accompanied by an Independent Public Accountant’s Review Engagement Report.
  • Completed projects with budgets over $500k are required to deliver audited financials as part of the final report.
